In this chapter we know that Anthony is in Saudi Arabia and waiting for orders to do something. The American military force is growing everyday by the thousands and the Marines, as we see are getting restless. STA platoon at this time is in the rear, and while they were sleeping, their lookout Dettman is supposed to wake them up at 0400 for their target shoot at 0600. Staff Sergeant Siek wakes up and yells at Anthony becasue at this time he is the leader of the group and any bad decisions or mishaps fall on him. When Swofford and the rest of the team go out looking for Dettman, they find him sleeping by a humvee. For "Swoffs" leadership mistake, he has to do intentsive training, as it is called in the Marines. However, once he is done with that he has to go and clean the outhouses by himself. Near the end of the chapter, Anthony teaches Dettman a lesson by putting his fully loaded m16 next to his head. He also goes over the statistics and qualities of the gun as well.
